MODICA CHOCOLATE

The chocolate of Modica is an exquisite delicacy with a long history, which connected Sicily and Spain from age to age and now is heading to Mexico.
The art of chocolate was brought to Sicily by the Spanish people in 1600. The flourishing County of Modica, which included three-quarters of the Sicily region, learned this art. Here, sugar and spices (vanilla and cinnamon) were added to the original recipe, obtaining a product that besides being nutritious was also considered a medicine.
Those flavours remained unchanged through history, without passing through an industrial stage, and this is the reason why Modica produces an amazing chocolate full of aromas.
