PREPARATION TIME 30 minutes
COOKING TIME 30 minutes for the potatoes + 30 minutes baking time
• 4 potatoes
• 50ml milk
• 100g ham
• 100g Parmesan cheese
• Salt and pepper
Take 4 large potatoes. Wash each potato under warm running water and remove any residual dirt on the skin.
Put the potatoes into a pot filled with cold water and bring to a boil. Cook for 30 minutes until tender – you have to keep them compact, so stop cooking before potatoes get overcooked.
Peel potatoes and slice into thin strips over a cutting board.
Using a pastry brush, grease with oil a single serving casserole dish until the edges. If you use springform pans, it will be easier to remove your potato cakes once ready.
Spread a layer of potatoes over the base of the casserole dish. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on it and place a slice of ham. Repeat, alternating potatoes, cheese and ham. Add salt and pepper between the layers.
Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top and add some oil. Preheat the oven at 180° C. Cook for 25-30 minutes.
Once completely cooked, you can turn the grill on and cook for a few more minutes until crust is golden brown.
